Bambu P1S vs X1 Carbon for carbon-fiber filament

Both printers are enclosed and have a 300°C hotend ceiling. The purchase difference for abrasive filament begins with stock hardware: P1S ships with a stainless-steel nozzle, while X1 Carbon is supplied with hardened-steel nozzle hardware and adds Micro Lidar, a higher-spec interface, and a higher bed-temperature ceiling.

Short answerP1S is an upgrade path; X1 Carbon is the stock abrasive-material path.

Choose X1 Carbon when out-of-box hardened hardware and its additional sensing and interface features justify the total cost. Choose P1S when you are willing to install the appropriate hardened wear components and the exact filament stays within its temperature limits. Neither removes the need for drying or ventilation.

Hardware

Compare the complete P1S upgrade, not only the nozzle price.

Include the hardened hotend, abrasive wear path, installation time, spare sizes, and any workflow accessories.

Material

Confirm the exact composite's nozzle and bed range.

A printer-family label cannot establish compatibility with every carbon- or glass-filled formulation.

Features

Decide whether X1 sensing features solve your problem.

Micro Lidar and the interface may matter to the purchase, but they do not replace preparation, drying, adhesion validation, or ventilation.
