Which filament dryer can actually handle PA6-CF?

There is no universal PA6-CF temperature. Bambu Lab specifies 80°C for 8–12 hours for its PA6-CF, while Polymaker's PolyMide PA6-CF data sheet specifies 100°C for 8 hours. That difference changes the answer.

From the five consumer systems in this site's cited database, an 85°C documented ceiling clears Bambu's 80°C requirement on paper. None reaches Polymaker's stated 100°C cycle. A maximum-temperature specification is still not proof of uniform chamber temperature or drying performance.

Interpretation: a dryer marketed for “nylon” can still be unsuitable for a specific nylon composite. The purchased spool's current technical data sheet is the controlling document.

“At maximum” leaves no headroom.

A system rated to 80°C only matches an 80°C target at its stated limit. It does not prove every point in the chamber or spool reaches and holds that temperature.

Air temperature is not material temperature.

Sensor location, airflow, load, spool mass, ambient conditions, and calibration can change the actual process. This table is a capability screen, not a performance test.

Drying must continue through the workflow.

Polymaker advises printing PA-CF while it remains in a heated dryer. Feed path and print-while-drying support therefore matter after the initial cycle.

Use this order before choosing hardware

    Identify the exact product and revision.

    Find the maker's current drying temperature, time, humidity target, and whether printing from the dryer is required.

    Check the spool's heat limit.

    The polymer may tolerate a temperature that the supplied spool cannot. Follow the manufacturer's respooling instructions if applicable.

    Screen the dryer's documented range.

    Reject units whose stated ceiling is below the requirement. Treat an exact match as a narrow paper margin, not proof.

  4. 04
    Verify the complete workflow.

    Confirm capacity, feed-through, timer length, safe ventilation, and whether the maker supports continuous heated use.
