Does the Bambu Lab P1S have a hardened nozzle?
No. Bambu Lab documents a stainless-steel nozzle and steel extruder gears on the stock P1S. For Bambu PA6-CF and other carbon- or glass-fiber reinforced filament, Bambu says the P1S should be upgraded before direct printing. Ordinary non-abrasive filament does not automatically need that change, and the nozzle is only one part of the reinforced-material wear path.
The P1S quick-start specification lists a stainless steel nozzle and steel extruder gears. It calls PA and PC capable, but labels carbon- and glass-fiber reinforced polymers “not recommended.” Bambu's P1 guidance says reinforced filament should not be printed directly before upgrading both the extruder and hotend.

A hardware upgrade has boundaries. It does not raise the P1S's documented temperature limits, dry a spool, or change whether the filament is approved for the automatic AMS feed path. Complete those checks before loading reinforced filament.

Does the Bambu Lab P1S come with a hardened-steel nozzle?
No. Bambu's P1S quick-start specification identifies the stock nozzle as stainless steel. A hardened-steel hotend is an upgrade, not standard equipment.
Does a P1S need a hardened nozzle for PA6-CF?
Yes for Bambu PA6-CF. Bambu lists hardened-steel 0.4, 0.6, and 0.8 mm hotends as compatible and lists the stainless-steel hotend as not recommended.
Should the P1S use a 0.4 or 0.6 mm nozzle?
Bambu supports both hardened sizes for its PA6-CF and recommends 0.6 mm. Third-party formulations can specify a different minimum, so their current data sheet controls.
Do the P1S extruder gears also need attention?
Bambu's hardened-steel gear assembly is the documented abrasion-resistant upgrade for P1 Series engineering filaments and explicitly lists PA6-CF support. Treat the feed path as part of the wear decision.
Can a stock Bambu P1S print carbon fiber?
Not through the documented Bambu reinforced-filament path. Prepare the supported hardened hotend and abrasion-resistant feed path before treating the P1S as ready for carbon- or glass-filled filament.

Hardened steel addresses abrasion. A larger orifice may reduce fiber-related clogging, but the maker's stated diameter still wins.
- 03Upgrade the complete abrasive path.
For the P1S, follow Bambu's hotend and extruder guidance rather than assuming one replaceable component makes the system reinforced-material ready.
- 04Check everything beyond wear.
Nozzle and bed temperatures, drying, chamber conditions, ventilation, build surface, and part geometry can still make the pairing unsuitable.
